What KH Reader keeps, why, and how to remove it. Short and plain.

The short version

You can read everything on KH Reader without an account, and nothing about you is sent anywhere when you do. If you join the forum, we keep what the forum needs to work, and nothing else. There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics, and nothing is ever sold or shared for marketing.

Reading without an account

Your reading settings (text size, font, theme, sound) and your place in each book are saved only in your own browser, so the site can remember them next time. They never leave your device. Clearing your browser's data for khreader.com removes them.

If you join the forum

Your account: your username, your email address and your password. The password is stored scrambled (hashed), so no one, including the staff, can read it. Your email is only used to confirm your account and to reset your password, and it is never shown to other members.

What you choose to share: your profile (picture, bio, favorites, reading point), your posts, pictures you add to posts, reactions and poll votes. These are visible to other signed-in members, which is what they are for.

Reading progress: while you are signed in, your place in each book and the entries you have finished are saved to your account, so they follow you to other devices and count toward reading badges.

Keeping the forum safe: when an account is made, a scrambled (hashed) version of the connection's internet address is kept for one day, only to stop one connection making lots of accounts. Reports you send about posts are seen by the staff only.

Cookies: the forum uses two small cookies, one that keeps you signed in and one that only tells the book pages that you are signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Who else is involved

Cloudflare hosts the site and its database and runs the "I'm not a robot" check on the sign-up form. Resend sends the forum's emails (confirmation and password reset links). The site's fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them when a page opens. Each of these handles only what it needs to do its job.

Age

You must be 13 or older to have a forum account. The forum has no private messages, and the rules forbid sharing or asking for personal contact details. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, report one of their posts and the staff will remove the account.

Removing your information

You can delete your account at any time: Forum, Account, Delete account. Your profile, picture, email, reading progress, reactions and badges are removed straight away. Your posts stay in their threads, shown as by "Deleted member", so conversations still make sense; you can delete any of your posts yourself before deleting your account.

Questions? Post on the forum and the staff will help.
